Thanks to the debate, the music calendar this week that is slightly more stacked than usual.  Obamarama at The Lyric Tuesday night should be fun, though I haven’t heard the bands yet. 

The Conor Oberst with Jenny Lewis show on Wednesday night at The Lyric could be the best show of the month in this town.   As I said in this weeks Local Voice column, don’t miss Jenny Lewis!

The following night, Neko Case and Giant Sand take the same stage; another great show. 

Then, on Friday, the “Rock The Debate” event takes place on The Grove Stage featuring North Mississippi Allstars, Kudzu Kings, Mayhem String Band, UM Gospel Choir, and Josh Kelley.  That’s a great day of music.  The Allstars, Kings, and Mayhem are three of the best bands from the Oxford area, so kudos to those doing the booking for this event.

The best show the night of the debate will be Mayhem at Proud Larry’s.  If you can find room at the Blind Pig for Tyler Keith and the Apostles that night, check them out too.
